Victim's Rights Resources

Depending on the unique circumstances of your case, as a victim, you may be entitled to certain rights, assistance and protections including confidentiality of personal information, protection, financial assistance, notice of court hearings, courtroom assistance during your case, Input during the trial process, and other post-trial assistance and notices.  Employers may not take adverse action against employees attending court who are the victim of crimes per Virginia Code 40.1-28.7:2.  For additional information and assistance concerning your rights, please contact the Commonwealth Attorney's Office Victim Witness Program.
